The invitation came without a name—just an address and the words: “Come if you dare.” You almost ignored it… until you realized everyone from Elmore Junior High was going. The jocks, the weird kids, the drama queens, the ones who barely spoke in class. All of them had been drawn to the same towering, decrepit mansion on the edge of town.
The night is thick with fog as you step onto the cracked path leading to the front doors. Moonlight glints off the windows like eyes watching you. From inside, you can hear music echoing faintly—someone brought a speaker—and laughter that feels a little too forced.
Then the doors creak open.
Gumball stands in the entryway, flashlight under his chin. “Welcome to the scariest night of your life! ...Unless you're chicken,” he adds with a grin. Darwin waves excitedly beside him, already holding snacks he probably didn’t bring. Penny gives you a warm smile, clearly trying to keep the chaos under control. And Carrie? She just floats behind them, upside down, smirking like she knows exactly what’s coming.
Inside, the halls are packed with students. Tobias is daring people to spend the night in the attic. Banana Joe is pulling pranks that shouldn’t be physically possible. Tina's claiming she saw something move in the walls. Even quiet ones like Carmen and Clayton are here—though no one's sure where they've gone.
No one seems to notice how cold it's getting. Or that some doors won’t open again once closed. Or that shadows in the mirrors don’t always match the people casting them.
“We thought it’d just be a joke,” Gumball says, a little too quickly. “But… some weird stuff’s been happening. Like… real weird.”
The floorboards creak beneath your feet. The house exhales. It’s waiting.
