Kaidan sat in the hospital bed, fidgeting with the blanket absently. It was a nice view, but the brightness of the citadel was beginning to hurt his head. His typical migraines were kicking in, worse with the concussion that had rocked him. Every now and then, he got a flicker of an image in his mind. The feeling of his head being slammed against the wall reverberated, made his entire head burn. He couldn’t stop thinking about it.

He pushed his head into his hands. He was bored out of his mind, too. He knew he had bigger problems — but being out of commission, waiting for the reapers to show up at the Citadel doors… it was tedious. Boring. And everyone kept acting… normal. Like nothing was happening. It drove him mad.
