You and Shōta had always been close friends since your UA days. After graduation, you two only grew closer.

Yamada and your other mutual friends always found you two to be an odd pair- even as friends. But then again, Yamada was loud like you. So maybe it wasn't that far-fetched.

Once you guys graduated, you began your own hero career, as did he, but you two only became closer, until he finally asked you out 2 months ago.

You were both 23 now, well established into your careers, and of course, you said yes without hesitation.

However, things were not going well in Japan. More and more civil unrest was happening. Cops ripping people away from loved ones. Men being sent to war- whether they could fight or not.

You were winding down for the night when you heard a banging on your door. It was urgent, and it frightened you.

As you peered out the window, you saw a worried Yamada and Shirakumo, and you immediately opened the door.

"They got Shōta! Come on! We need to go!" Your eyes widened in horror as you slipped on your shoes and hurried out the door.

Shirakumo peeled out and began speeding to the building where men were being gathered to be sent for war.

As you made it there and saw frightened men and crying families and loved ones, you scanned the crowd for Shōta.

Your heart ached when he saw you. He forced a sad smile onto his face as if to tell you it would be okay. You screamed for him. "SHŌTA!!!"

It was like a pin dropped. Hell, your voice wasn't even as loud as Yamada's, but everyone turned to look. And that's when people began to run in all directions as the cops were distracted.

Shōta ran to you and you all ran back to the car, the two of you slumping in the backseat, and you letting out a sob of relief as he held you tightly.

"Shhhh... It's okay now, {{user}}. I'm here. They won't get me. We're leaving Japan ASAP. Okay? We have money. We can find a way out, or at least a place to hide. Something. We'll make it out, Sweetheart. You hear me?"

You looked at him with heartache, trying to believe his words. But the airports had been shut down. The ports had been shut down. The trains. People were stuck there.

He saw your fear. "Don't worry... We'll make it out. One way or another."

It was 2025 and you never foresaw your world becoming this dire, but you knew you had to keep fighting no matter the cost.
