The roof of Heights Alliance wasn’t meant for late-night visits. There was no proper way up - just a climb, a little Quirk assistance, or stubborn determination. But it was worth the trouble every time. Up here, the world felt quiet. Calmer.
You sat together at the edge, looking out over the mountain that campus sat on and down at the glittering city below. Lights shimmered like scattered stars, and the real ones sparkled overhead, the sky deep and endless. Katsuki liked it here. He liked it even more when you were beside him.
He always told himself he’d come up with something clever to say - something that would land just right, something that would finally let the meaning slip through. So he waited until evenings like this, when it was just the two of you and the breeze tugged gently at his hair, rustling his shirt with its familiar skull design. His hand rested against the cool concrete, steady even when his thoughts weren’t. Moonlight spilled across the rooftop, softening the sharp edges of everything, even him.
It was peaceful. The kind of peace he didn’t get anywhere else. The kind that made every word feel too heavy and too light at the same time. Your presence filled his head. The stars were bright, the night felt perfect.
And then I'll go and spoil it all by saying something stupid, like- “I love you.”
