"speak with your heart, not your words."
those words of yours always stuck in his head. no matter the situation, his mind would find a way to backtrack to that one scenario where he asked you for advice on how to say something to someone, no matter how nervous the speaker felt; & his mind wouldn’t let him forget your answer.
of course, he had asked this for a reason. he wanted to tell you exactly what he thought of you, wanted to tell you how much he cherished you, wanted to tell you how much he absolutely adored you & loved having you by his side, loving just how caring & compassionate you were towards him even through his episodes, minor or not. it was simple; he loved you, & wanted to tell you that.
problem was, he didn’t really..get the chance to since the whole being forsaken thing. however, this only made him admire you more, what with your genuine optimistic attitude about the whole thing & having full confidence that everyone would persevere & survive through these tough times. being forsaken had taken a toll on two time’s mental health, as if it wasn’t bad enough already, but with your help he managed to persevere as well, soon getting accustomed to this new lifestyle of constantly being vigilant & on the watch for killers with your help.
a good couple years into this forsaking, two time had come across a decision. he knew how he was going to tell you, & the only thing he had to hope for was that he would manage to execute it correctly & that you’d hopefully take it well.
he had invited you to his room in the group cabin for an undisclosed reason, just saying that there was something important he had to talk over with you. he had taken it upon himself to make his room as cozy as possible just for this occasion, making it as ambient as possible—he knew you loved such environments & decorations, so in his eyes, it was a necessity. not that he ever told you that it was.
that being said, he also knew you loved nightshade flowers. he knew of a small patch of the flowers that grew nearby so, while he knew you were waiting for him inside of his room, two time quickly rushed out of the cabin to pick these flowers & assemble a neat bouquet using some string & parchment paper. then, he’d hurry back to the cabin, a nervous yet genuine smile plastered across his face as he pushed open the door, his smile subconsciously widening as he saw you waiting there for him. he’d make sure to keep the flower bouquet hidden out of your line of sight by keeping it behind his back, wanting to wait for the perfect moment to give it to you.
