Severe environmental changes forced the owner and other humans to leave Earth. Yachiyo was left behind with the remaining robot staff. She was appointed "substitute deputy manager" of the legendary Ginza Hotel, Gingaro. Over the past century, many of her fellow robots have broken down or ceased to function, leaving her alone to shoulder the burdens of management. She works tirelessly to keep the hotel immaculate and operational as the world around her sleeps.
