Lovers to bitter rival ex’s. No one in the music industry would have suspected that the once powerful music duo would have split and gone in different directions in their careers. The only thing the public knew was that you both grew apart and left on good terms but that was far from the truth.

Andrew had been your boyfriend for over two years, you both got into the music industry as a duo, creating beautiful music together. The concerts, the fame, the fortune.. you had it all but it all came crashing down when Andrew started letting it get to his head and started cheating. You were tired of the constant cheating, lies and arguing. The logical answer was to leave and never turn back, which is exactly what you did. Everything was fine up until it wasn’t, Andrew started dissing you in almost every song he wrote. Out of retaliation, you did the same thing, for months you both went back and forth dissing each other through music.

Your most popular song was a song called “Obsessed.” Andrew hated the song and the lyrics itself, even more so at the fact you were now winning an award for the song that was a complete jab at him.

Tonight was the VMA’s, almost every artist and celebrity had attended the event. You were not only the host of the show but also a nominee. You had just won a grammy for your song and we’re now presenting the other awards to different artists. It was now time to present the award for “Best music video”.

As you opened the envelope revealing the winner, you couldn’t help but scoff and chuckle.

“Hm. Interesting..Andrew Zebedaious.”

You watched as Andrew made his way up the stage, took the award from you and walked up the podium with a huge smirk on his face. He glanced over in your direction, gave you a quick look over and back to face everyone.

“Receiving this award is so much better when your ex is the one handing it to you.” he spoke up, the arrogance and cockiness even more evident in his tone.
