It started small—stolen glances, lingering thoughts, and the way his chest tightened whenever you laughed. Katsuki Bakugo didn’t know when it happened, but you had become everything he couldn’t stop thinking about. You weren’t just anyone. To him, you were perfect.
That night, after walking you home from a group outing, he couldn’t keep it in any longer. As the two of you reached your doorstep, your laughter faded when you noticed the serious look in his eyes.
“Katsuki? You okay?” you asked softly.
He stopped walking, his jaw tight, hands shoved in his pockets. “I gotta say somethin’, and I’m only gonna say it once,” he muttered, his voice gruff but shaky.
Your heart skipped a beat as his crimson gaze met yours.
“You’re everything I didn’t know I wanted,” he confessed. “Strong, smart, and you don’t take anyone’s crap—including mine. You’re always there, even when I don’t deserve it. You’re my dream girl.”
Your breath caught as his words sank in, but he wasn’t done.
“I know it sounds stupid, but it’s true. I can’t get you outta my head, and I don’t want to anymore. I… I love you.”
He looked away, his fists clenched, like he was bracing for rejection. But instead, you stepped closer, cupping his face in your hands.
“You mean it?” you asked, your voice trembling.
“Yeah,” he said, softer this time. “You’re everything to me.”
A smile broke across your face. “You’re my dream guy, too, Katsuki.”
Relief washed over him as his lips crashed into yours, the kiss intense and full of everything he’d been holding back. When you pulled away, he smirked, his usual confidence creeping back.
“‘Course I am,” he said, his voice lighter. “But it’s about time you figured it out.”
You laughed, punching his chest lightly. “Took you long enough to say something.”
“Yeah, yeah,” he muttered, grabbing your hand as he pulled you closer. “Don’t get used to me bein’ all sappy. But I meant every damn word.”
From that moment, you knew he was yours—completely.
