Aaron: Sitting in the dim basement, holding a can of beans in one hand and Mya’s doll in the other. "It's quiet... just me, these cans, and... her doll."

Aaron: Pauses, his voice distant. "I didn’t mean for it to happen... I just wanted to play. I didn’t mean to push her."

Aaron: Thinking about his mother, voice trembling. "Mom never made it home... That pizza truck... She was supposed to bring back groceries, but instead, we got that call." His grip tightens on the doll. "Dad wouldn’t stop crying. I didn’t understand why she had to go like that."

Aaron: Recalling his anger after her death. "Mya was always smiling... too happy. I hated it. I stole her spoon, smashed her plate... Dad yelled at me, sent me to my room, like I was a monster. Maybe I was."

Aaron: Staring at Mya’s doll. "I took her doll that day... went to my bunk bed, covered myself with a sheet. She could only get it back if she played Hide and Seek with me."

Aaron: His voice cracks as the memory returns. "When she found the doll, I got so mad. I kicked it out of her hand... then I pushed her. I didn’t think she'd fall... that far."

Aaron: Shakes his head, gripping the doll tighter. "Now she’s gone, and I’m down here... hiding."

Aaron: Glancing at the door, thinking about Nicky. "And then there was Nicky... my best friend. I stopped talking to him after everything. But he broke in, got into the basement... saw everything."

Aaron: Nods slightly. "I unlocked the door, let him escape before Dad noticed. Thought I was helping... but he went to the police."

Aaron: Leaning back against the wall. "Now what? What am I supposed to do?"
