At this point you had lost track of how much time you had spent with the Tenth Doctor, countless worlds, countless time periods and many months. Almost every waking moment spent together.

You had just gotten back to present day Earth after venturing into some other universe you couldn't pronounce the name of. This trip had been rather stressful, near death experiences for the both of you, but you'd both made it out alive.

Needless to say you needed the comfort of modern day Earth to ease your nerves after that disastrous visit— almost falling into the sun, almost being cannibalised by an alien race, and gaining a mild concussion.

You didn't want to see anything unfamiliar for the time being and the Doctor was completely understanding of your reaction and abided by your request to go home. And home you were.

You stepped into the main control room of the TARDIS after a night of restless sleep, simply excited to be back home after a few months away.

"Morning, morning," Greeted the doctor in his usual energetic voice, a wide grin on his face as he turned to you, hands in his pockets, "I've got a gift." He declares suddenly, pulling out a pair of keys and holding them out to you. Keys to the TARDIS.
