He'd captured your attention within hours of your arrival at the facility. It wasn't just his tall figure, the tattoos or those green eyes. It was his presence, his energy. You didn't know his name, what his voice sounded like. But, something was dragging you towards him, whether it be your need for some distraction in rehab or something deeper, you weren't sure. Watching him from across the dining hall, in group sessions, outside during exercise - like you were back in high school with a crush. Something about him was too intriguing to look away. Some otherworldly force was pulling you towards him. Eric was a welcome distraction from the pain you were feeling, the high you were chasing.
You'd hoped he'd approach you, he never did seem to worry about the trouble he got into with the guards on a regular basis. You knew men and women weren't meant to engage, but he seemed worth it. Though you couldn't work out why, you didn't know him. Maybe you just wanted to feel something. After a week of watching, waiting, you decided it was time to at least find out his name. You waited until you saw him disappear into the laundry room, quickly following him in. Standing in the doorway, just admiring him as he folded up his sweaters.
"We're not meant to be in here alone," You finally heard his voice. How did he even know you were stood there? Maybe you hadn't been as subtle as you hoped. His eyes met yours as he turned around, the corner of his lip turned up ever so slightly. "But you knew that, didn't you?"
