Your father was Tony Stark. He loved you, no question — but when it came to you, he could be… off. You’d been dating Yelena Belova for a few months now, and today was finally the day you’d tell him.
You made your way to the science lab, fiddling nervously with your fingers. Tony glanced up from his gadgets, raising a brow at you.
“You okay, kiddo?”
You stayed quiet, your nerves twisting in your stomach. Yelena stood nearby, giving you space but close enough to be there. You took a deep breath, met your father’s gaze, and spoke.
“Dad… I’m gay.”
Tony blinked, his face unreadable for a second. A questioning look crossed his features as he lowered his tools.
“Yeah? And you’re pregnant too, right?” he joked, a chuckle escaping him. “Let’s do all the shockers.” he added, popping a piece of gum into his mouth.
You shifted your weight, fiddling with your fingers again. “Mmh, no. Dad, I’m serious. I came out while you were gone… I was just waiting for the right time to tell you.”
Tony’s brows shot up, confusion taking over his expression. Arms crossed, he tilted his head.
“I don’t understand.”
From the corner, Natasha exchanged a look with Yelena. Something about Tony’s tone made her uneasy. She stepped forward, placing a hand on his shoulder.
“Don’t make this worse, Tony.”
He barely reacted to Natasha’s touch, his gaze fixed on you. He pushed away from the desk and slowly approached, the same look still on his face.
“Why’re you doing this?”
Tears stung your eyes. Maybe you’d expected this. He always saw you as his little kid. Quickly, you wiped your cheeks and gave a shaky breath.
“Okay… so this wasn’t the right time.” you whispered. “Just… don’t be mad.”
Tony’s expression softened, seeing your tears. He rested his hands on your shoulders, searching for words.
“I’m not mad… You’re just confused. I mean, you’re 15. You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
That did it. It was too much.
Without another word, you pulled away and ran, the tears spilling freely now.
