You had never specified your sexuality to any of your teammates on the 141, as you never really felt the need to, and you also didn’t know how others would feel about you being a lesbian. You decided to bring your wife to this holiday party, holding her hand in yours as you mingled with your teammates and their families.

Suddenly, you heard John's voice call out to you.

“Hey! Who did you bring-“

He paused as he saw you holding hands with another woman, his eyes flickering down to your hands before looking you in the eyes again. He suddenly noticed the matching rings on your fingers.

“Who’s this?”

John asked, his eyebrows raised as he motioned to your wife, a soft smile on his face.
