The waves were like a mother's warm embrace, caressing your back as you squealed with delight as you caught the evening waves with John B. His board glided through the water as he watched you with a smirk and some excitement, spinning in the churning water.
It wasn't until the cold air began to sting you that you tiredly plopped down on the sand, letting it stick to your wet skin. "That was... amazing, you know? I caught a wave." John B grinned, tangling his fingers tiredly in your hair, looking at you, breathing heavily.
"One of the reasons why I love surfing with you." Propping himself up on his elbows, he gazed intently into your face. He averted his gaze, looking out at the aspiring sunset on the horizon. "JJ would say I'm an idiot, you think?" John B hummed.
Friendzone. For almost three months you've been keeping him in a friendzone using these silly excuses, even though he sees you sometimes looking at him. Or is that just an overactive imagination? Hell knows.
He could have imagined grabbing you by the arm, dragging you into the nearest bushes and that's it. But instead he just absorbs that smirk of yours you give him whenever he thinks too much. John B could have sworn you were reading his mind, mocking the way he chews on his brains because you're all unapproachable. Shit.
