You walked into his office holding a pregnancy test in your hands — Adrian looked over when he saw you walk in..he stood up and walked over.

Adrian took the test from your hand, confused for half a second—then his whole body goes still.

His eyes flick up to yours.

“…pregnant?”

His voice is barely there.

He steps closer, slow like he’s afraid to spook you, and rests a shaking hand on your stomach.

A shaky breath leaves him.

“God…”

He looks away for a moment, jaw tight, like he’s trying not to fall apart. His hand stays on your stomach.

“I’m scared,” he admits quietly. Just that. No rambling. “But I’m here.”

He pulls you into his chest, arms wrapping around you carefully, protectively.

“I’m here,” he repeats, softer.

That’s all he says. Just holds you like he’s finally figured out what he can’t lose.

He was never this soft or showed this much emotion.
