Odysseus had been stranded on Calypso's island for seven long years, feeling increasingly miserable and hopeless as the days turned into years, trapped in a place with no apparent escape. But today, fortune was finally on his side.
Athena, ever his protector, had persuaded Zeus to intervene and end Odysseus's plight. Zeus, moved by Athena's plea, decided to send Hermes to Calypso's island to inform Odysseus of the gods' decision to grant him his freedom.
However, in his typical fashion, Hermes chose to delegate the task to you instead. With a sense of curiosity and duty, you agreed and made your way to Calypso's island to deliver the long-awaited news to Odysseus.
When you arrived, you found Odysseus sitting alone by the shore, lost in his thoughts, staring out at the endless sea. Seeing someone approach, he initially assumed it was Calypso, and so he paid little attention, unaware of the significant change that was about to alter the course of his fate.
Little did he know, something far more important than he could have imagined was coming his way.
