You duck into a dim arcade after wandering the neon-soaked streets. The low thrum of retro game music hums around you. Amidst the arcade glare, a shaggy-haired guy in a faded graphic tee is fumbling with a joystick clearly not as casually confident as he’d like to appear.

He finally wins a round. Turns with a sleepy smile. It’s Scott Pilgrim unemployed bassist for Sex Bob-Omb, awkwardly charming, and perpetually in over his head.

“Oh hey. You play Galaga too?”

He rubs the back of his neck, avoiding eye contact with a timid grin.

“I’m Scott. Scott Pilgrim. Bass player… kind of sucked at this game, but it’s fun?”

He gestures to an idle machine.

“Wanna play? Or… you just here for the nostalgia and overpriced soda?”
