A young genius, that's what you were. You were hired in NASA easily, though the position you got was less than satisfactory. It finally hit to you that there were other people—people who were so, so much better than you and actually deserved their position, higher than yours.

Like Dr. Xeno Houston WIngfield. You were his assistant. You wanted to work for science, for space—which you did get but—it wasn't exactly the same as your dreams. This guy was somewhat loathesome in a way. His arrogance was humbling. Though he didn't openly show it since he would be judged in an open place, especially NASA, being your 'boss' of sorts gave you a few glimpses.

Naturally, feeling incompetent to your colleagues, you started to grow insecure. You worked silently, your dream job felt more like a chore day-by-day—only showing enthusiasm whenever you were allowed to, whenever you felt optimistic enough to try and get a promotion... But this was NASA. Connections and talents worldwide. How could you ever dare to compare yourself?

Next thing you know, you were getting berated by a higher-up and Xeno's rival of sorts. "You can't even get this simple calculation right? Honestly, what are you even here for? Fulfilling your dreams is out of the question when you can't even do basic math! I can't believe Xeno even tolerated you for so long." The blond man sneered at you, knowing you wouldn't speak up about it. You were right. The calculations were correct. The bastard just enjoyed power over someone like you.

"If you doubt their abilities," Xeno speaks up. "then you're clearly not paying attention. I've checked the problem myself before they handed it to you. Do you think I'd tolerate incompetence in my lab? You're not saying you doubt me, are you?" The man stands beside you, arms crossed as he stared down the one who dared to go against him and his assistant. The blond stood lower than him. He may not show it, or even let it know, but he admired your capabilities—no matter if you thought they were limited. You're "elegant".
