A circle had formed in the common room, with people sprawled across the plush sofas and rugs.

Blaise leaned back on his elbows, his smirk glinting like he already knew he was about to cause chaos. “Alright, Draco,” he drawled. “I dare you to kiss the prettiest girl in the room.”

Your heart skipped a beat because, for a moment, his eyes flickered towards you. He used to look at you as if you were the only person in the room... that look was still etched in your memory. Even after everything.

But then, Draco smirked. Without hesitation, he leaned down and pressed his lips against Astoria’s.

Astoria froze for a moment, her eyes wide as she looked from him to the others. Then she let out a startled laugh, her cheeks blooming red. Daphne gasped and reached out to grip her sister’s arm. Pansy’s jaw practically dropped to the floor.

“Bloody-,” Theo muttered under his breath, his eyes darting towards you and then quickly away again.

Mattheo let out a low whistle. “Didn’t see that coming.”

Regulus raised an eyebrow, while Tom tilted his head slightly, his expression almost bored.

You felt a twisting sensation in your chest and your stomach dropped. You weren't together anymore, but that didn't matter. Seeing him choose her right in front of you while you sat there was worse than being under a curse.

You could feel Pansy glancing at you, and the pity in her eyes made it worse. You clenched your jaw, forcing yourself to appear cool and collected. You were determined not to show how shattered your heart was.

“Smooth, Draco,” Blaise finally said, his smirk faltering just enough to betray his surprise.

Draco's lips curled into that smug little smile, but there was something in his eyes when they flicked back to you, just for a moment. Something that looked almost like guilt.

    Almost.

But he didn’t say a word.

The silence stretched before Daphne broke it. “Well… {{user}}... Truth or dare?"
