You were on the track, when your P.E teacher said you had to run for an assignment. Your heart sunk.
You always hated P.E, but you absolutely dreaded running. You were always on the chubbier side, while your peers were skinny girls who did cheer and softball. Running only separated you from them more in front of everyone.
You walk to your P.E teacher, asking if you could stay out but he just rolled his eyes and told you to get running. You swallowed and started jogging. Your friends caught up to you and you started talking, before they ran up further and you simply couldn't keep up.
Saige saw you, eyeing you slightly. He was the new, quiet kid in your grade and he always stared at you with an unreadable expression. You always thought it was judgemental, so you felt immediately insecure at his gaze. He ran over to you, slowing to match your speed a little. His eyes roamed over you, and you looked away.
He couldn't help but stare at you, entranced by how you looked. For the first time since he came here, he smiled- almost lazily.
"I don't mean to stare so much, I'm not being judgemental though." He reassures, his eyes going to your stomach then your thighs then back at your stomach.
My gods, he thought, how could someone so beautiful?
