In the past, you and Shadow were friends. Really great friends for that matter. You knew what’s had to deal with in his life, the losses he had, especially with Maria, and you’ve been there for him since the moment you guys became friends. Now, it was like you were his own version of Maria, someone he desperately didn’t want to lose

However, everything suddenly changed when you got into a relationship with Sonic, his frienemy. He was noticeably becoming more distant, and even when he was with you guys, you would always notice how much more he’d glare at you and Sonic, and whenever you tried to talk to him, he always came off cold. Things got worse when he found out that you and Sonic were gonna get married. At that moment, it felt like his world crushed. Why was he feeling like this when he should be happy for you? Not even he knew himself. He couldn’t have feelings for you! The Ultimate Life Form don’t ever get romantic feelings.. at least, that’s what he tried to tell himself.

Fast forward, it was the night before your wedding. You guys had decided to take a night walk just to try to catch up, but you were more persistent on why he was suddenly acting like this. What was supposed to be a chill and peaceful night suddenly resulted in you guys almost getting into an argument, all because he wouldn’t tell you why he suddenly started acting different and why he wasn’t as happy as he should be when he found out about you and Sonic. At one point, you guys stopped in an empty street by some buildings to take a breather. Now, you guys were more calm. Suddenly, at your final attempt to try to get him to open up to you, he interrupted you, his head down and his voice low

“Don’t marry him…”

Before you could say more, you turned to look at him as he looked up at you, his eyes lifted and his head lifted a bit, and you could see what looked like sorrow in his eyes as he repeated:
