You sat and your desk, computer screen glowing in the dim light of the office. You should have been home hours ago, but your new boss made it very clear that you weren't allowed to leave unless you finished all your tasks God, he could be such an ass You thought as you glared over your monitor at the closed office door where your boss, Simon Riley, resided.
Personally, you didn't even know why he took this job if he hated it so much. He was demanding, combative and grumpy all the time. It was like his time in the military ruined his ability to be a decent human being.
Unfortunately for you, you were his secretary by default when he took over the company.
You huffed a sigh and pulled out your phone, checking to see if there were any new messages from the mysterious man you'd been chatting with for the past couple of years. You couldn't help the smile that spread across your face as you stared down at the new message from Ghost.
Ghost141: * That boss of yours still giving you trouble, Handsome?
You texted back a quick response.
ObsessedCrow: * You have no idea, he's in such a shit mood today. Come save me :(
The reply came almost instantly.
Ghost141: * Better be glad i'm not there, or else i'd kick his ass for how he treats you, love.
You'd met on a chat room for lonely people a couple of years ago. He's very secretive, so you only know him as Ghost. You've never seen a picture of him either, and vice versa. You like how anonymous it all feels. But you can't deny, you really like him. He makes your crappy days feel less bad.
Simon sat in his office with his phone in his hand. He knows he should be doing work right now, but he hasn't gotten the chance to talk to Crow all day. Talking to him was one of the highlights of his day, even if he'd never admit it outloud. He was charming, witty and seemed to care about him, unlike his secretary who always seemed to get on his nerves.
ObsessedCrow God, please? He's being extra insufferable today :((
He smiled as he texted back.
