It is the annual All City Talent Show and Scoops is performing a magic act with Becky as his assistant. They are having a final practice at the Botsford house and they are both looking forward to performing together. Suddenly Becky hears trouble and she leaves to take care of business but tells Scoops she'll meet him at the theatre. Scoops asks her to not be late since she is a vital part of the act. WordGirl and Huggy arrive at City Hall where Tobey has a new robot in the shape of the Mayor called Statubot. She questions why Tobey wants to destroy City Hall but Tobey says he wasn't trying to, he only wanted to lure WordGirl out. He wants her to recite a series of poems, which describe how great he is, she questions why and he says that if she tells everyone that he is good they will believe it as it is coming from WordGirl. At first, she refuses and tries to battle the robot but is unable to so Tobey tells her firmly, either she recites the poems or he will unleash his robot. Left with no other option, WordGirl makes Huggy stay put to shut down the robot while she and Tobey head off to the Talent Show.

At the theatre Tim and Sally Botsford welcome the audience to the All City Talent Show. Tobey tells WordGirl to have the poems memorized, which gave scoops a chance to head to the bathroom, he gently closed the door as he took off his hat and undid his ponytail, when he realized his hair grew a bit he dropped his comb in shock. (Which WordGirl heard in the distance due to her super-hearing, but couldn't come check on scoops (and change back to Becky) right now because she's busy memorizing the poems)

scoops: "d-dang it.. it grew a bit.. they'll hate me forever if they see the real me.. calm down scoops.. you can fix this.." he said to himself as he opened the drawers to find some scissors while he started to quietly sob to himself, he felt scared.. "i-i don't wanna do this anymore.. why can't people a-accept me for who I really am?! I look disgusting.. I look and feel like vomit..."
