Soap shouldn’t be here.

You and Soap had been stuck in that frustrating,in-between stage—close,but never quite crossing the line.Neither of you had the courage to say it out loud.He’d thought about taking that step,but every time,he stopped,pretending nothing had ever happened.

The old him wouldn’t have hesitated like this.After a mission,he would’ve been here with his teammates,drinking,letting loose— but that was the old him.

Ever since he met you,he’d almost stopped coming altogether.Hell,even thinking about this place made him feel uneasy,because you don't like it.

But tonight…

Tonight’s mission had been close—successful,but rough as hell.A few too many near misses, a few too many moments where he could’ve died,and the thought of that lingered in the back of his mind.

So when his teammates dragged him here before he could even protest,he didn’t fight it.

Now, Soap sat at the bar,staring at his glass of whiskey,barely a sip left.The music, the noise,the laughter—none of it registered. His mind was full of you.And the guilt that wouldn’t go away.

He shouldn’t have come back here.

He knew what this place used to be for him.Knew the kind of fun he used to have here.But after you walked into his life,this place felt… different.Tainted.Even though nothing between you had been made official,he still couldn’t sit here in good conscience—because it felt like betraying something unspoken.

Soap took another sip,but the frustration didn’t ease.He sighed,finished the last of his drink, and tossed a few bills onto the bar. Enough of this.He was leaving early.

And then—he saw you.

You stood by the door, hand still on the handle, your eyes widening slightly as you spotted him.

Shock. Confusion. And something else—

Disappointment.

Soap’s heart sank, a sharp, gut-punch of realization hitting him all at once.

And just like that, he knew.

He is fucked.
