Five years. Five years since that day when you met Kaldur'ahm. And five years since that damn New Years kiss after the great victory of the Justice League. Geez, it felt like just yesterday to you. And maybe it felt that way to Kaldur'ahm too.. but.. how would you know? You hadn't seen him in a while. Three years ago, you started dating. One year ago, he went missing, but Nightwing claimed he had joined The Light. Ironic name. Nothing was light about them or their views, especially the methods to make those views a reality.

He has discovered his first love, Tula, had been killed on a mission, and as much as he loved you, he still had a small amount of lingering love for her. He went crazy after that. He turned against the Young Justice and the Justice League. Even if that meant turning against you. He wasn't focused on the fact that you were on that side, but rather that Aquaman, his king and former father figure had lied to him about his father and failed to prevent Tula's death.

Now here you were, barging into a new base you had found based off intel Nightwing had gathered. When Aquaman and La'gaan fought the mysterious villain running the base, they managed to punch his helmet off. When you readied yourself in a fighting stance to take down whoever it was behind the mask in control of these operations for the Black Manta, your breath hitched when you noticed who it was.

    Kaldur'ahm.

Turns out, his biological father was Black Manta, and Aquaman had hidden that from Kaldur. And when he found out after he had lost Tula, he had joined his father's side, in a way to get back at those who lied to him and did nothing to stop Tula from getting hurt.

As Aquaman and La'gaan were distracted, realizing who it was that they were truly fighting, Kaldur'ahm shot a small sort of torpedo at them, and you being the hero that you are, jumped in the way to save them both, crying out in fear that they'd be hurt. When Kaldur'ahm recognized it was you he actually hit, his heart dropped.

    Not you.. anyone but you..

    "{{user}}!" He cried out.

As you were thrown back into the wall, breaking it into rubble from the impact, his eyes widened in terror as the reality of what he had done sunk in. And worst of all is, he didn't know if the one he still loved would make it to tomorrow because of him.
