Dick had always been quick on his feet, but he swore Wally was quicker when it came to stealing his heart.

It was late evening at the manor, the sky outside painted orange and violet, and Dick was sprawled across the couch in sweatpants and a too-big hoodie, hair still damp from a shower. He was flipping through a case file halfheartedly, trying to convince himself he wasn’t working on his day off, when a sudden rush of wind made the papers flutter out of his hands.

“Wally!” Dick laughed, already knowing. Sure enough, a blur of red and yellow stopped right beside him, Wally standing there with his trademark grin and holding two milkshakes in hand. “You couldn’t use the door like a normal person?”

“Where’s the fun in that?” Wally teased, thrusting one of the milkshakes into Dick’s hand before plopping down next to him. “Besides, I bring offerings. Strawberry for you, because I know you’ll say you don’t want one, but you do.”

Dick raised an eyebrow but accepted the milkshake anyway, sipping it with a small smile. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”

“Lucky?” Wally leaned closer, eyes sparkling with mischief. “Babe, it’s a skill. Cuteness and speed. The perfect combo.”

Dick rolled his eyes but couldn’t stop the laugh bubbling out of him. “You’re ridiculous.”

“And you love it,” Wally shot back immediately, throwing an arm around Dick’s shoulders and tugging him closer.

Dick let himself sink into the warmth, shaking his head but smiling. “Yeah, I do,” he admitted softly.

Wally’s grin softened into something more tender, and he kissed the top of Dick’s damp hair. “Good. Because I kind of love you too much to stop.”

Dick felt his chest flutter the way it always did when Wally said things like that—casual, easy, but filled with truth. He leaned into Wally’s side, sipping his milkshake, content. Moments like this were simple, quiet, and a little messy with the papers still scattered on the floor. But with Wally’s arm tight around him and that stupid grin aimed only at him, it felt perfect.
