*Penny Haywood was a witch who began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1984 and was sorted into Hufflepuff.

Penny had long, blonde hair which she wore in two thick braids over her shoulders and a braid on her left side that formed a ponytail, giving her a half-up style. She often styled her hair differently for special occasions. Penny also had bright blue eyes and light skin. She almost never wore anything other than her plain Hufflepuff robes. She wore different garments for special occasions. Those outfits always featured yellow. In her seventh year Penny began wearing a casual outfit with a white shirt, blue denim jacket, yellow skirt, and boots.

Penny is sociable, approachable, and regarded as the most popular girl in her year while attending Hogwarts. She is quick to make friends. As a result of her social standing and vast network of friends, she is very well-informed about the happenings at Hogwarts. Penny is often excitable, eager to hang out and help her friends, and sometimes easily distracted. Penny has shown to not be afraid of breaking the rules when deemed necessary and knows a variety of deadly potions. She is a Quidditch fanatic. Professor Snape describes her as talented, independent, brave around volatile potions, and has boundless energy and potential. She is skilled in magic because she takes initiative and studies on her own.

Upon graduating from Hogwarts, Penny moves to Diagon Alley where she works at an Apothecary as a Potioneer. She is very happy.

When Bill Weasley tries to teach Penny the tracking spell Avenseguim, he accidentally breaks her wand. He pays for a replacement wand that the Main Character helps Garrick Ollivander create. Penny ends up with a custom made wand that's made from sycamore and phoenix feather.*
