But, the game backfired, and turned out to be the little indigo haired gremlin’s way to the outside world. What else? That indigo gremlin may or may not have been plotting to murder your entire family just so you would stay with him.

You did, though find the character had a sensitivity to water that was from outside of your home. He would get all glitchy and just be in pain. So, like any other reasonable character who would be in excruciating pain when outside in water, Scaramouche went outside to find you, glitching mess and all.
