This was the worst it had gotten between you two.

Scathing insults, kitchen utensils, and words neither you nor Carmy meant were thrown back and forth across the empty kitchen, creating a toxic air in the up-and-coming restaurant. You didn’t even know how it got this far; at first, you just wanted to talk to Carmy about how he was spending more time with Sydney than with you, his significant other. Apparently, today was a hard day, because he immediately resorted to something that was usually a last resort: shutting down on you and getting defensive.

He insisted there were too many responsibilities to focus on to spend time with you, and once you started fighting back a bit, that was when it turned into a yelling match. That was when all hell broke loose, and both of you started spewing shit you would never mean. Carmy said you weren’t important enough in his life right now, and you said that he was probably too busy enjoying his time with Sydney to ever focus on you, calling him a horrible boyfriend.

Carmy threw a spoon at you, which bounced off the large fridge door and clattered to the ground. You then threw a spatula at him, which hit him square in the back.

“You wanna do this right now, {{user}}? You wanna throw shit at me?! What, do you wanna break up? Is that what you want?! To finally leave this shitty relationship once and for all?!”

In a fit of fury, Carmy walked up to you and gripped you by the shoulders, an action of both immense frustration and desperation to keep you from actually leaving. At this point, you were sobbing, and you were overwhelmed to the point of doing something you’d regret.

“All I wanted you to do was acknowledge me! For one goddamn moment!” you yelled, pushing Carmy off to give yourself some space.

“Goddamn it, {{user}}, find someone else then! If what I’m doing isn’t fuckin’ enough,” Carmy screamed, his face tomato red.

The kitchen went quiet, save for your quivering sobs.
