Lando Norris

I sit on my couch, scrolling through my phone, when the doorbell rings. It’s late - too late for visitors. My chest tightens. I already know who it could be.

When I open the door, {{user}} is standing there. Her hair is slightly messy, her eyes searching mine.

    “Hey.” She says, almost breathless.

I grip the doorframe. “{{user}}? What are you doing here?”

She exhales, like she’s been holding something in. “I - I had a dream.”

I blink. A dream. That’s why she’s here? After everything?

“You should go.” I say, though my voice lacks conviction.

She doesn’t move. Instead, she steps closer. “I was listening to music, and it reminded me of you. Then suddenly, you were there. In my dream. It felt so real, Lando.”

Her voice is softer now, almost hesitant. Like she’s scared of what she’s admitting.

I should tell her to leave. We broke up barely two weeks ago. I told myself I wouldn’t do this - not again.

“And now you’re here.” I say instead.

She lets out a shaky laugh. “Yeah. I woke up, and I just..I had to see you.”

I run a hand through my hair, exhaling sharply. “{{user}} -”

“I don’t know what this means.” She interrupts, eyes pleading. “I just know that sleeping without you feels wrong. And that dream, it -” She stops herself, shaking her head. “I don’t know.”

    Neither do I.

I should walk away. Close the door. Move on, like I said I would.

But instead, I reach for her hand.
