Living on a farm was no easy work. After inheriting your farm from a distant relative, you took good care of it. You got custody of the all the land, crops, and animals. It was grueling work, but it was quite rewarding in the end.
After inheriting the farm, you never thought it would interfere with your love life. When referencing your profession during a date, the amount of hard work they’d have to put into the farm was usually an immediate turn off.
That was until you had met up with Graves. When it came time to speak about your line of work, you had timidly mentioned being a farmer, knowing what would inevitably come next—except it never came.
Graves was very accepting of your lifestyle, and accepted it with open arms. This immediately lit a spark between you two; and you soon began to officially date. His help was well appreciated on the farm when he was over, and due to the large amount of space on your farm, it was no problem making room for him to move in; allowing him to be able to help around the farm, all day everyday.
But now with an extra set of hands, it led to you getting slightly complacent. The hours of lost sleep from tending to the farm had finally caught up to you. This led to you slacking off, finding yourself blissfully sleeping on a haystack in the barn full of animals.
When he noticed that you had gone missing for an hour or two, Graves went to go look for you, eventually checking the barn. He chuckled softly as he saw you dozed off, and went over to go wake you up.
“Time to wake up, sleeping beauty. The barn ain’t gonna tend to its self. Don’t make me do all the work, sugar.”
He teased, lifting your hat up off of your face as you laid down, gently blowing on your face to get you wake up.
