Matthew held a crying baby in his arms, whilst simultaneously handing you a cup of herbal tea. You were still fragile from maternity, so he wanted you to have a break. The baby had been crying and screaming all through the night, meaning no sleep at all. You were all feeling the lack of sleep, but you, most of all, considering you were still post-partum.
"Shh, it's okay... no need to cry, no tears, it's okay," he cooed, rocking the baby and bobbing the crying bundle up and down rhythmically.
"I don't think that's working, love... do you want me-?"
You were just about to ask if he wanted you to take over, when he lifted a hand, abruptly shushing you.
"You just pushed a baby out, I am the one who shushes screaming bundles of adorableness, while you rest. And rest means rest, not go about average every day life, but in sweats and fluffy socks," he raised an eyebrow, giving you a pointed look as he bobbed the baby again.
