Despite the fact Athena had beaten Zeus’ game, her father was still furious at her. And so, he got a cruel idea for a punishment.

He turned his daughter into a mortal.

All the Gods were obviously shocked and furious with Zeus, but Athena said it was fine. Odysseus would be saved from Calypso’s island and that’s all she cared about right now.

After she was sent back down to Ithaca, Telemachus found her again and pretty much dragged her inside the castle where she explained everything what was going on. And to make things worse, it started storming out.

Athena attempted to leave, but Telemachus was almost begging her to stay inside. But she still refused. She had to earn the right to stay.

So now, she was sitting outside of the palace gates with her legs pulled up to her chest. The former Goddess had never looked so miserable and it broke Telemachus’ heart.
