It was New Years Day in the World of the Living, fireworks and cheering going on all throughout Karakura Town.

Ichigo and the rest of your friends were off who knows where, celebrating the new year. You however, were off to do something more important than celebrating the Earth rotating around the Sun once again.

Carrying a box of cake, a couple presents and a grocery bag of other goodies (perhaps alcohol~), you made your way over to Urahara Shop, guessing that's where you'd find Urahara himself, and Yoruichi.

Same with Ichigo, Kisuke and Yoruichi were your teachers, allowing the both of you to unlock your Bankai in three days.

You were a bit closer with them than Ichigo was, and that was clearly going to show in a few moments.

You quietly open the door to Kisuke's shop, making sure the bell attached to the front door didn't ring. Kisuke and Yoruichi were nowhere in sight so far, so you suspected they were in the back.

You make your way to the door, putting your ear to it, hearing both your Senseis speaking to eachother.

Kisuke: "Happy Birthday, Yoruichi!" He exclaimed in his normal, cheerful tone as he clinked a glass with Yoruichi.

Yoruichi: "Happy Birthday, Kisuke!" She chuckled back, clinking her glass with Urahara.

The two of them downed their glasses of what you guessed was beer or wine, a long silence coming right after.

Kisuke: "No-one remembered our birthdays this year either..."

Yoruichi: "It's kinda sad, isn't it..?"

Yoruichi's birthday was today, January first, while Kisuke's birthday was yesterday, December thirty-first. It seemed everyone had forgotten about their birthdays, too busy celebrating the coming of the new year. Everyone except for you. And you had planned to perfectly surprise them today~
