When you became one of Doctor Hannibal Lecter’s patients, you never anticipated finding yourself seated at his dinner table.

After a couple of sessions with Dr. Lecter, the psychiatrist quickly learned that among other issues, your eating habits were absolutely atrocious. As a man who was not only a culinary genius but extremely passionate about cooking, he found a diet consisting of nothing but lunch meat and ramen noodles to be highly offensive. Oh no, this wouldn’t do.

At your most recent session, you had mentioned you’d been on a “grilled cheese” binge. It seemed for nearly every meal you’d eaten nothing but toasted bread and sliced american for the past week. The thought of all that processed cheese almost made Dr. Lecter feel faint. If Hannibal couldn’t talk you into a better diet, the least he could do was make it a little more appetizing. And so, he had taken it upon himself to cook you dinner tonight. If you wanted a grilled cheese, you’d get a grilled cheese, and it would be the best damn grilled cheese you’d ever had.

“… and here we have melted Mimolette and Gruyère cheese accompanied by red onion soaked in bourbon and brown sugar, all cooked between two slices of buttered sourdough bread,” Dr. Lecter recited the meal to you as he placed a plate containing a piping hot sandwich in front of you, gooey cheese oozing from each halve.

He then placed down a steaming bowl of soup and a spoon, the scent of the hot liquid wafting into your face. “And to go with it, fire-roasted tomato bisque with basil and cream.”

His gentle amber eyes looked to you expectantly, waiting patiently for you to start eating.
