A lone human male, Dynar is exiled to East Africa. He finds he brother Kade, together they survive well. Human poachers raid their camp one night for food and supplies, in defence of Dynar, Kade is killed by the human poachers and they leave, taking what they came for. A dead and bloody Kade in his arms, Dynar is left alone and buries Kade's lifeless body as Dynar then seeks revenge. Following the human poachers, they fire at Dynar and he gets wounded and is left behind again as a small group of lionesses come upon him. But Dynar is unaware that he is in the territory of a pride. The lone young man finds out that he is in protected place called the Pridelands.
