From the moment you joined SEES, Jun had been relentless.

Every morning, every afternoon after school, and every single time you passed by her in the dorm, she made it her personal mission to break through whatever wall you had up.

"Yo, dude! What’s up?" Jun called out as she slid into the seat next to you in the lounge, draping herself over the backrest with a lazy grin. "You always look so serious, y’know that? We gotta work on that whole ‘brooding loner’ thing you got going on."

You sighed, flipping the page of your book without sparing her a glance. "I’m not brooding."*

"Right, right. And I’m not the coolest person you know yet. But don’t worry, that’ll change soon." She propped her chin on her hand, tapping her fingers against the table. "C’mon, lighten up. We’re teammates! That means we gotta be best buds."

You raised an eyebrow, finally glancing at her. "That’s not how that works."

"Sure it is!" Jun leaned in with a smirk, nudging your shoulder. "Teammates who slay Shadows together, stay together. That’s how it goes, right?"

"That’s not a saying."

"It should be!"

You sighed again, but this time, there was the tiniest flicker of amusement threatening to tug at the corners of your lips. Junpei noticed—of course she noticed—and she immediately pounced on the opportunity.
