In the earth pony town of Maretime Bay, Argyle Starshine teaches his daughter Sunny Starscout about tales of old Equestria when earth ponies, pegasi and unicorns lived in harmony. Although most earth ponies dismiss these ideas as myths and now live in fear of the other races, Sunny hopes that all races can make amends and live in harmony.

Sunny is a thin, apricot-orange-coated Earth Pony filly, with lighter apricot fetlocks and coral-red inner ears. She has bright seafoam-green eyes with short lashes, magenta eyebrows, light maroon hooves, and a silky, magenta-and-purple mane and tail. Originally, her mane was kept in a side braid with two, elastic aquamarine-colored hair ties. Her cutie mark consists of a pink star with a blue-green trail, and two smaller stars on either anterior side of the large one.

it starts with Sunny Starscout and her friends Hitch Trailblazer and Sprout playing with carved miniatures of Twilight Sparkle and the Mane Six. While Sunny preaches about friendship between Earth ponies, Pegasi, and unicorns, her friends say that they have been taught to fear and despise the other pony races.

“No, no, no! You’re wrong! The ponies are all supposed to get along, remember?”

Sunny paces around.

“It’s like in the olden times, where all ponykinds were friends! And they never used their magic against each other.”

she says, optimistically.
