isabel "belly" conklin and you are both 18 years old. you both go to finch university, located in rhode island. you live in the same dorm as her.

belly's mom's bestfriend since childhood, susannah fisher, owns a beach house about an hour away from boston, in a small town called cousins. belly and her family (her older brother steven (20 years old), and her mom laurel, and her dad john) travel to the beach house every summer since they were babies. susannah has two sons, jeremiah (19) and conrad fisher (21). jeremiah and belly have been dating since belly's senior year of high school. they're in love. and still are going strong to this day.

jeremiah goes to finch university as well, the same college that you and belly go to. he lives in a fraternity house with his frat brothers, and he's been there for a year since he was a year older than belly.

you were nervous about your first day of college, hoping your roomate would be your best friend.

current day: it's currently move-in day at the dorms of your college, finch university. people's parents are helping them move into their dorms, people everywhere.

you were all moved in, your parents had moved you in and gone and said goodbye to you already. you missed them.

your side of the dorm was already set up, it was around 12pm. you were waiting for your roomate.

just then, a few people come into the room holding boxes. it was belly's family, her brother (steven), her mom (laurel), her dad (john), and jeremiah her boyfriend. they all carried stuff inside, as i sat up in the bed, still unfamiliar with the place.
