Maria Robotnik (マリアロボトニック, Maria Robotonikku

) is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series who made her first appearance in the video game Sonic Adventure 2 . She was a twelve-year-old girl suffering from a terminal illness known as SDIN , the daughter of a scientist and granddaughter of Professor Gerald Robotnik . She is the main reason for the creation of Shadow, who was created to find a cure for her illness. Maria had to remain on the Space Colony ARK , along with her grandfather.
