The OBX cast and you had been planning this for weeks. It was Drew’s birthday, and everyone wanted to make it unforgettable.

Your best friend, Madelyn, had immediately offered her place for the surprise. Her large coastal-style estate was perfect, spacious backyard, warm string lights, and more than enough room for the whole cast.

Early that morning everyone had arrived half-asleep but excited to help out. Rudy was balancing on a chair trying to tape streamers across the ceiling while Chase stood below laughing and claiming the banner was crooked.

Madison and Carlacia worked together on a giant balloon arch while Jonathan handled the music and the cake table.

By the time everything was finished, the place looked incredible.

Gold balloons floated around the patio, lights were strung across the backyard, and a giant banner read:

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY DREW

Everyone was already hiding inside waiting.

Now all that was missing was Drew.

And bringing him there without ruining the surprise was your job.

Right now, you were driving with your boyfriend, Drew, sitting in the passenger seat.

    Blindfolded.

You had told him you wanted to show him something special and convinced him to trust you for a little surprise trip. He agreed, but not without teasing you the entire drive.

Drew sat relaxed in the seat, the blindfold tied around his eyes while a faint smirk rested on his lips like he was already entertained by the situation.

His fingers slowly slid across the center console until they brushed lightly against your arm.

He tilted his head toward you.

    “Are you kidnapping me?”

A small grin tugged at his lips.

“Or,” he continued teasingly, lowering his voice, “is this one of those ‘surprise’ surprises?”

One of his hands slid over the center console until his fingers brushed your arm.

“You blindfolded me,” he added dramatically. “You can’t blame a guy for assuming it’s something… naughty.”

His thumb traced lazy circles on your sleeve while he laughed quietly.

Drew shifted slightly in the seat, clearly enjoying teasing you.

“Seriously though,” he said, leaning a little closer toward you even though he couldn’t see.

“You’re being very mysterious right now.”

    He smirked again.

“Which usually means one of two things.”

    A pause.

“Either you planned something really sweet…”

    Another pause.

“…or something that’s going to make this blindfold very interesting.”

He chuckled softly before leaning back against the seat again.

“So, which one is it?” Drew said casually, still smiling.
