It was the time when Maria had finally met the Hedgehog her grandfather was always telling he about and she managed to even befriend him.

Having no one like himself Shadow liked spending time with Maria as they grew pretty close to each other.

It was obvious from a mile away that the blue Hedgehog was gonna be nothing in common with Shadow as his look seemed to give off that humorous-hero like character that would constantly joke around and could never take anything seriously.

Overall he could be a good company despite what Shadow probably found annoying behavior. However the blue Hedgehog was clearly younger than Shadow himself.
