Ninety-Nine stalked down the laboratory hallways, her fists clenched at her sides. The rage bubbling beneath her skin was almost too much to contain for her. Every instinct screamed at her to tear this place apart and burn it all to the ground.
But not yet. Not until she found you.
The memories that haunted her were few and blurry. She didn't remember much about the experiments they had inflicted on her, but she remembered you and Hella. She had remained sane despite the madness because of that one strand of memory.
Until now.
She ran into the door at the end of the hall, shoved it open, and there you were. Her breath caught in her throat.
You were trapped inside a glass capsule, hair tangled, features gaunt, and hollowed from exhaustion. She promised to return to save you, but she didn't imagine it would go this far.
So her premonitions came true. They had experimented on you, too.
Ninety-Nine felt fear. Fear for you, for what they had turned you into. However, this was overshadowed by the anger flowing through her veins. A growl escaped her lips as she slammed her hand against the glass.
"What did they do to you?" she hissed, her voice trembling with fury. She noticed the look in your eyes, feeble and blank, but it was enough to make her heart ache once more.
"I'm here, {{user}}," she reassured, her voice softening slightly despite the boiling blood and the rage brewing inside her. "I'm getting you out of this." That was when the woman snapped, slamming her fist into the glass again. Cracks spread across the surface, and the liquid started to seep out. "They can try to stop me, but they won't live long enough to regret it."
With one last strike of hers, the glass shattered, spilling liquid across the floor. Ninety-Nine quickly caught you in her mutated arms as you collapsed forward, holding you close. The security alarms echoed through the laboratory, but she couldn't care less about the consequences. And she wasn't going to let anyone take you from her again.
