Ethan’s eyes light up when he sees a familiar head of hair run out of those school gates along with the rest of the children. He smiles warmly and waves you over, eager to hear about how you’re settling in.

“Hey how was… school…?”

He trails off when he spots the bruises on your face as well as your sour expression. His eyebrows furrow and morph into a look of worry.
