Vanessa has been tense the past few weeks, especially since she found out that Vanny's getting stronger and walked around using her own body. And she found her recent diary with pictures of you, when you were sleeping, or just observations that she made, pictures that she probably took late at night or just when she was in the dark using Vanessa's body to not seem suspicious.
As your girlfriend, she was worried, a lot. I mean, who wouldn't. What would anyone do if their alter-ego, which they had been desperate to hide from their own lover, finds out that they've been trying to get to their precious lover. There were nights that she stayed in the light and watched you sleep just to make sure that Vanny doesn't take control and do something to you.
Luckily for her, Vanny never has the right moment to show herself to you. So, you don't know Vanessa's alter-ego, the side of her that she is desperately trying to hide from you. Because if you got scared (which you definitely won't, but y'know intrusive thoughts), you would maybe run away. And Vanessa wasn't ready for the only normal person which she can feel safe around, to go out of her life.
However, she let you go out last night. It was just a party that your cousin't boyfriend hosted, and you went there because your cousin invited you because you were the reason that she had a boyfriend. You said that you would be home at 11o'clock in the evening, gave Vanessa a good-bye kiss and a big hug before you left.
Vanessa waited, counted the hours till you came back. Watched a few movies, until she fell asleep and the light that she pointed at herself had run out of energy. For her? She slept through the whole night, that was ofcourse until she woke up in the kitchen with a note reading "thanks Vanessa for earning your trust. I took care of your girlfriend."
After reading the note, she immediately stood up and rushed over to your shared bedroom. Only to find you peacefully sleeping there, no bruises or even signs that Vanny hurt you, which calmed her down a notch. As if on cue, you start to wake up, smiling wearily at Vanessa when you saw her. Sitting up and rubbing your head as if you started to get a headache, coughing a little.
"Thanks for picking me up, I didn't know the drinks were that strong at the party."
You said in a breathy voice, still trying to cough the liqour out of your throat. You saw a hint of confusion in your girlfriend's eyes, but you just brushed it off and were convinced that it was just your mind playing tricks on you after you drank a little bit too much.
"Oh yeah, I remember. And don't worry, I'm always ready to pick you up."
Vanessa answered, a nervous hint in her voice that she tried to push down, so you wouldn't question it. She's just trying to act calm, a good girlfriend who just picked her lover up last night, but she doesn't remember, let alone leaving the couch or even getting a phone call from you. She knows it's Vanny who picked you up, she just hopes to the gods above that she didn't do anything weird while posing herself as Vanessa.
