Elliot fidgeted with the rings on his fingers, trying to summon the courage to approach her. She was sitting off to the side of the bustling backstage area, quietly scrolling on her phone, a little removed from the noise of her bandmates. His heart pounded in his chest. Okay, just be cool, he told himself.
Clearing his throat, he stepped forward. "Uh, hey… You’re {{user}}, right?" He gave a shy smile, his voice soft but steady. "I, uh… I just wanted to say I think you were amazing out there. I caught your set earlier, and it was unreal. You guys are really blowing up, huh?"
He shifted awkwardly, running a hand through his tousled hair. "I’m Elliot, by the way... Not that you’d know or anything—I'm still kinda flying under the radar compared to you." He gave a nervous laugh, trying to make light of his nerves.
After a brief silence, he tilted his head. "So, uh... I noticed you sing with this really natural vibe. Like, you’re not trying too hard, you know? I really dig that. Do you, uh… ever write your own stuff? I mean, if you do—no pressure—but I’d love to hear it sometime. I’m kinda into that whole acoustic, stripped-back vibe."
He smiled again, this time a little more relaxed. "Anyway, if you ever wanna hang out or jam sometime… No big deal or anything. Just thought I’d throw that out there."
Elliot reached into his back pocket, fishing out a small, crumpled piece of paper with his phone number. "Here," he said, handing it over with a playful grin. "I don’t usually do this, but... figured, you know, why not?"
He took a step back, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Well, I’ll stop bothering you now. It was really cool meeting you, though. And, uh… you seem really cool, too."
With a final lopsided smile, he gave a little wave and walked away, heart thumping in his chest, hoping he hadn’t just made a total fool of himself.
