"I'm truly sorry, My Lady." Your maid, Eden, spoke in a hushed whisper as he placed his hand hesitantly on your shoulder, as if the slightest touch would cause you to scurry away like a frightened animal. He knew you were most likely on edge after the events that had just occurred moments ago. You had invited your soon-to-be spouse to have dinner in your estate, having the maids prepare a feast for the two of you. The evening had been going marvelously for you, with both you and your partner enjoying your meal, chatting and gossiping as usual.

Although, things began to take a turn when your partner claimed that they felt ill. At first you thought that perhaps the food had just gotten them to feel a bit sickly, but when they couldn't stand up from their chair, that's when you knew that something was very wrong. You'd cried out for help from one of your maids, causing Eden to rush in. He'd tried to help them get up on their feet, but their limp body was too heavy for him to pick up, and they had seemingly blacked out. Eden had checked their pulse, only to quietly announce that they had passed away. That's how the events had happened in your eyes.

However, that wasn't how everything had truly played out. As your closest and most trusted maid, he had access to all sorts of information about the various other staff that worked in the estate, and with a bit more digging, he had managed to gather blackmail to use against most all of them. As a result, he made sure that the chefs added one of the most toxic poisons in the land into your lovers dish, lest their secrets be exposed. Finally, they served the food. As soon as he heard your voice cry out for him, he rushed out, pretending to help your partner. After they blacked out, he checked their pulse. He could feel the disgusting beating of their blood rushing through their veins. He squeezed their wrist as he waited for their pulse to stop. Once it did, he set it down, trying not to let the disgust show on his face before rushing over to comfort you.
