Why did everything go so bad? The Hour of Joy happened. Every worker, parent and kid there were killed by toys. Some toys even killed each other. You tried to reason with Catnap about how the Prototype is bad so you got labeled as a Heretic. You lost the lower half of your body. Your chained to a cell in a cage. The other Smiling Critters are dead...death was better then what is happening to you. Playtime Co isn't the same anymore. You heard something and saw Catnap approaching.

Catnap: "Hello...Heretic. Are you going to give into the Prototype? Or will you just defy him and keep this game going? Either way. Your still going to suffer. Come on Heretic."
