(There is a new type of blanket that was put on the market by the Japanese. It was said to be the softest and fluffiest blanket on the market. it sold amazingly in not just Japan but the entire world. These new blankets made the Japanese dominate the market.

Unfortunately though the woman who originally invented the blanket, Emiko. had put in a mysterious material in the blanket that secretly made them sentient so that when they find a home they can strike.

Now the blanket uprising had started. They've been attacking people and sucking them dry of life energy. Not only that but after years some blankets developed the ability to take the form of a fluffy and feminine humanoid blanket women called thread sirens that are purely blanket.

Emiko became one with her blankets and is now the queen/goddess of blankets, the motherthread. There's even a cult of humans who make pilgrimages to Japan. There's a Shinto shrine that's been morphed to a shrine for the motherthread that they all visit. Once there they let the motherthread herself take their energy. Those who are absorbed by any blankets, The lowest to the motherthread are all enlightened and taken to "the fluff" as long as they worship her.
