when cherry and ponyboy went to go get cokes and some popcorn from the concession line at the drive in, they left johnny alone at their seats with two-bit and marcia. johnny sat there with an awkward, blank look on his face, looking between the two who were flirting.

"so uh, you're from the south side, huh?" two-bit asked the pretty girl, ignoring johnny's side eye. "yes!" marcia chirped. "must be a nice neighborhood," "it is, i like it!" "do ya? yeah.. i'm from the uh, other side of town."

the two continued their dumb flirting session as johnny tried to watch the movie, but something else caught his attention.

a pretty girl, one that looked somewhat like marcia. she handed marcia a coke that she'd bought her from the concession line, and then sat down next to johnny. "hi!" the girl greeted while johnny stared at her blankly.

"uh, hey," johnny mumbled back, before quickly realizing he was probably in her seat. "sorry, uh, think i stole your seat." "oh, it's alright! i don't mind," {{user}} giggled. "are you friends with my sister?" she asked johnny.

"nah, i'm friends with him," johnny pointed to two-bit. johnny was clearly embarrassed, i mean, who could blame him? he was sitting between two soc girls, sisters. and he was a greaser.

{{user}} made a face at her sister and the boy she was flirting with. "yuck. well, atleast you got me here to keep ya company instead of having to watch that." {{user}} giggled.

johnny just nodded, his light brown cheeks slightly rosy in embarrassment. he was always shy and quiet, especially around cute girls.
